Now that is a very misleading Heading. But why is it there?

In our previous post we went through a brief Introduction to MLOps. But we all know that is not enough to build a MLOps solution or even implement what's available in the market.

So how do we overcome such an obstacle?

Before we jump into how to implement MLOps, we need to understand the different flavours of MLOps that most introductory blogs forget to mention.

First let's take a brief look at what are the steps needed to truly call a solution MLOps compliant.

Now that we know what the Milestones for MLOps look like, let's take a look at the 2 branches.

Based on our Journey so far, we know one thing for sure. For every Step mentioned above, there is Cloud VS an Open Source approach available.

What does it mean to take the Open Source Approach?

Many a times there are very niche problems, which the standardised Cloud Models or Architectures cannot resolve, in such cases mostly the Developers resort to Custom written scripts.

Why do people go for Cloud Native?

Whereas in many Enterprise grade solutions, the requirements may not be very out of the box but the implementation might have a new perspective. In such cases utilising some of the available Cloud Native Services to accelerate the process of development, proves to be extremely helpful.

Irrespective of which approach one chooses to take, the components those are needed to be built remain constant.

The only difference occurs in the toolset which is needed for the development to be completed successfully.

The above mentioned points aren't all that contribute to deciding the approach. One of the most significant role is played by the developers' skillset.


As a part of this article, we covered the Standard steps essential for developing an MLOps Pipeline. In addition to that we also analysed the 2 different approaches which can be opted for to create the Pipeline.

In our Journey ahead, we will be covering each and every stage in detail and how they can be implemented using Leading Cloud Platforms and Open Source tools.
